**About Grupago**Grupago uses AI to scale small business credit and payments worldwide.Around the developing world, the vast majority of the economy is driven by small, often informal micro-businesses.These businesses have been ignored both by banks and fintechs, given the challenges to underwrite and serve.We use AI to bring both business credit and payments to micro-businesses across the globe - starting with Latin America.We launched a credit card in Mexico last year, have thousands of customers, recently launched a small business loan product, and are expanding into payments this year.Our vision is to use AI to automate every part of our business - from acquisition, to underwriting, to credit line upgrades, to collections - in order to serve millions of micro-businesses around the world in a scalable and profitable way.Our team is run by a very small (currently 8 person) team of extremely talented, mission-driven, data focused engineers and business leaders - including a CEO/co-founder who is a successful former VC and multi-exit fintech founder, and team members with decades of combined experience at leading fintechs across the US and Mexico.We are backed by top venture investors across the US and Mexico, and have raised over $6M in venture capital.This role will include a competitive salary, bonus, and equity compensation.**Responsibilities**We are looking to hire an experienced Data Scientist & Machine Learning Engineer.Specifically, the role will include leading:- Machine Learning engineering - directly add features to and continuously refine and improve our machine learning models- Agentic systems buildout - oversee the buildout of agentic systems across our business (from acquisition to customer service and collections)- Data analytics - running key analyses to help inform the business on metrics like profitability, customer segment / risk profiling, funnel and acquisition cost metricsThe role will entail working closely with the co-founder and CEO, who is also technical and experienced in data science (though you will be primarily responsible for leading the function).**Requirements**:- 5-10+ years proven experience (with strong recommendations) directly building and optimizing machine learning models - ideally related to consumer credit risk (micro-business loans, credit cards, etc.)- Highly experienced in SQL, Python, and key machine learning and data science libraries and analytical tools- Ideally - fluent in Spanish (though this is a nice to have)- Experience working in and thriving in a highly entrepreneurial early stage startupThe role will be remote - and may require occasional travel to Silicon Valley.**Benefits****Benefits**In addition to working at an early stage fast moving startup - you will qualify for equity (stock option grants), competitive compensation and any bonuses, paid time off and holidays.**Learn more
