Indirect Buyer

This is an entry-level professional position supporting the management of nonproduction spend. Area of responsibility is Liebert North America. Performs analytical and related tasks, develops and executes strategies resulting in operational benefits to the business.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:- Manage e-sourcing events and communications with internal customers and suppliers.- Analyze data from POS and other sources to identify cost savings, leverage opportunities, supplier consolidation, and other operational benefits.- Monitor and take action to improve POS user compliance.- Assist MRO Commodity Manager in payment term improvement initiatives.- Perform administrative tasks in POS:- Maintain accurate part price and supplier information.- Coordinate with Materials and set up reorder points.- Review reports to monitor order progress, backlog of open PO’s, identify delays.- Structure standard configurations and understands processes on POS Database.- Assist users with questions, troubleshooting, and help develop savings strategies.- Create Agile requests for new parts, part changes.- Serves as a backup to the MRO Purchasing Administrator for POS tasks.- Facilitate interactions between Liebert and indirect suppliers:- Lead supplier business reviews.- Assist in administration of new supplier set up.- Manage and resolve invoice discrepancies.- Work with suppliers to ensure performance objectives are met.- Review appropriation requests identifying executing e-source and negotiation opportunities.- Work with Facilities Managers and plant resources on sourcing initiatives, and implementation of contract terms.- Manage vending machine program and track savings.- Train nonproduction suppliers to use e-procurement.- Maintain the nonproduction preferred supplier list.- Identity and recommend other cost reduction opportunities- Must communicate effectively and in a timely manner with Liebert LNA associates and suppliers.**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:- Communicate supplier lead-times, order minimums and multiples, and other related supplier issues with internal customers and management as needed.- Assists internal customers with delivery or other issues pertaining to nonproduction purchases upon request.- Special projects as assigned**INTERACTIONS**:- Supplier outside sales, inside sales, quality contacts, production, and upper management- Commodity Managers, Procurement Management, Quality Engineers- Material Acquisition Specialists and Planners, Inventory Control- Production Management and Line Associates- Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance**POSITION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS**:- Estimated 10% travel to, not exclusively including suppliers, but may include other Liebert manufacturing locations or other corporate locations in order to develop and maintain strong relationships with all, and to participate in Emerson Procurement programs. Individual activities may require more or less travel as assigned.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:- Knowledge of fundamentals of purchasing and material planning functions.- Ability to coordinate efforts from multiple groups in the company to achieve objectives.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.- Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.- Ability to identify process deficiencies, develop and implement improvements.- Position requires tact and diplomacy in dealing with suppliers and internal customers.- Must be able to work on several projects simultaneously.- ISM, APICS, or other Supply Chain related certification preferred.**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain or related field; **OR**:- 4 years experience in a position of similar structure and responsibility.**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:Includes timely and effective execution of esource and negotiation projects. Ensures customer satisfaction with POS and error resolution. Improves spend visibility and analytical capabilities for nonproduction spend. Must provide regular updates to management on esourcing event schedule and other projects. Develops Liebert suppliers an important partner in the effort to satisfy Liebert customer requirements.
