Infrastructure Engineer

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:**AstraZeneca is currently looking for Infrastructure Engineer to join our R&D IT Solution Delivery Team to manage and support our Biometrics (Analytics & Reporting) product delivery team, that is GxP compliant, part of Clinical Development Platforms that provides an analytical platform for data analysis for regulatory submissions and is used across all therapeutic areas.**:AstraZeneca is one of the world’s most exciting **bio-pharmaceutical** companies. We are fully committed to redefine and provide support to enterprise-wide IT solution platforms, infrastructure and services.**Primary Responsibilities**:- Troubleshoot issues reported by end users and provide quick and appropriate resolution- Perform root cause analysis which includes detailed analysis to assist in the effective remediation and long-term elimination of complex problems- Assist in development/maintenance of process automation- Coordinate and perform installations and upgrades to layered software packages.- Review, implement and verify changes/solutions of intermediate to advanced complexity and risk.- Participates in the training and on-going mentoring of new team members as required.- Coordinate with rest of Platform Product team to solve day-to-day incidents, service requests and work towards incident-reduction and automation. Also, update Service Now (ticket management tool) for all events with respect to the incidents, service requests, changes, and problems.- Prepare technical documentation including procedures, manuals, reports and standards.**Required Skills & Experience**:- Hands on experience with installation of hot fixes, service packs, upgrades as well as add-on software components- Knowledge of LINUX operating systems, storage systems (GFS2/NFSV4), file systems, and network protocols.- Detailed knowledge of UNIX principles, file editing, UNIX commands, and file manipulation.- Knowledge of Linux computer operations and familiarity with shell programming and scripting.- Understanding system administration and how network hardware and technologies work.- Understanding of backup procedures and storage management.- Ability to use professional knowledge to analyze information and resolve problems.- Ability to understand and successfully employ networking, storage, operating system virtualization, and integration solutions and services, and utilize appropriate environments (e.g. Test, Pre-Production and Production) in support of assigned responsibilities.- Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels- Be able to generate written documentation of all work performed- Have a customer-focused demeanor, effective oral and written communication skills- Superior customer service skills- Ability to multi-task and address complex support issues in a mixed technology environment- Be able to work on incidents & requests and resolve it within agreed SLA’s- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.**Desired Skills & Experience**:- SAS Platform administration certification is a plus- Knowledge in Base SAS programming is a plus- Experience with Oracle, Mongo and MySQL Databases is a plus.- Experience working and delivering in an Agile/Scrum team environment.- Experience with Java 8 is a plus.- Knowledge of programming languages (i.e. bash, Perl or Python) and windows scripting languages.- Knowledge of high-performance cluster architecture and configuration- ITIL 4 certification is a plus.- Familiarity with shell scripting & groovy scripting.- Familiarity with GxP systems.- Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-SQL databases such as Mongo DB.- Passion for learning, innovate, and deliver valuable software to end customers.- Efficient communication and presentation skills.
