**Job Description**:What you will do:- Oversee General Ledger functions; assure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with professional accounting standards and standard methodologies in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP);- Research and analyze accounting transactions and contracts and document technical accounting memos- Partner with Finance to determine accounting implications for all material business decisions;- Assist with internal and external financial reporting - including drafting and reviewing SEC documents and management review reports, ensuring quality, and administering strict timeline;- Act as a liaison to the external auditors, ensuring open matters are resolved timely- Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement- Research, interpret, and document all new accounting standards and how each applies to GM as well as comply with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements.**Additional Job Description**:- Lead (MXGAAP) Local Financial statements' preparation, review, and analysis for both companies (Controladora & GM de Mexico).- Partner with Finance Teams (FP&A, VSSM, CCA, Tax, OnStar, MFG & Treasury) to determine accounting implications for all material business decisions, new project implementations & initiatives for GMM.- Act as a liaison to the external auditors, ensuring open matters are resolved timely.- Responsible of ~35 MJE & ~80 Account Reconciliations including Sales Incentives Allowances & J1 Reporting to VSSM.- Monthly variances analysis review at entity level (Balance Sheet and P&L) to assess significant variances vs Prior Period (MoM, QoQ o YTD).- Quarterly presentation to Automotive Controller & GMM CFO and annual presentation to GM Chief Accounting Officer- Support and test new system implementations (OTDS, Fincore, etc.) and new business lines projects (EV's, Olympus, BrightDrop, etc.)Just so you know diversity and inclusion are our strengths.
