About the role

As a Development Manager of this team, you will:

  • Lead the architecture and implementation of web services

  • Iterate quickly and ship code frequently

  • Develop a collaborative environment with your team of 6-8 to make sure their work is greater than the sum of individual efforts

  • Use your passion for excellent products to ensure your team is delivering high-quality features

  • Coach your team and empower them to grow in their careers

  • Research and pioneer the adoption and use of new technologies within Zillow.

  • Be willing to apply your resourcefulness to problems at every level of the tech stack.

  • Come to work daily aiming to reshape the real estate industry into something that serves consumers

This role has been categorized as a teleworker position. Teleworkers do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and instead work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live anywhere in Mexico, with availability to travel to Mexico City, as we recommend attendance at occasional office events.

In addition to a competitive base salary and benefits, this position is also eligible for bonuses depending on factors such as experience, performance and location.

Como gerente de Desarrollo de Software, podrá realizar lo siguiente:

  • Liderar la arquitectura e implementación de servicios web.

  • Iterar rápidamente y enviar código con frecuencia.

  • Desarrollar un entorno de colaboración con su equipo de entre 6 y 8 personas para asegurarse de que su trabajo sea mayor que la suma de los esfuerzos individuales.

  • Aprovechar su pasión por los productos de excelencia para asegurarse de que su equipo ofrezca funciones de alta calidad.

  • Entrenar a su equipo y capacitar a sus miembros para que desarrollen sus carreras.

  • Investigar y ser pionero en la adopción y el uso de nuevas tecnologías dentro de Zillow.

  • Estar dispuesto a aplicar su ingenio ante los problemas en todos los niveles de la pila tecnológica.

Este rol ha sido categorizado como un puesto de teletrabajador. Los teletrabajadores no cuentan con un lugar de trabajo de oficina corporativa permanente y, en cambio, trabajan desde un lugar físico de su elección, el cual debe ser identificado ante la Empresa. Los empleados pueden vivir en cualquier parte de México, con disponibilidad de viajar a Ciudad de México, ya que recomendamos la asistencia a eventos ocasionales en la oficina.

Además de un salario base competitivo y beneficios, este puesto también es elegible para bonos dependiendo de factores como la experiencia, el desempeño y la ubicación.

Who you are

  • 2+ years of experience in a management or tech lead role with a passion for mentoring and developing the potential of others.

  • 5+ years of experience writing scalable web services, and object-oriented programming for consumer-facing, highly reliable, high-volume consumer tech products.

  • Strong experience with backend development in one or more programming languages: C#/Java/Python/Go

  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCE, or Azure

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred

  • Más de 2 años de experiencia en un puesto directivo o de liderazgo tecnológico con pasión por asesorar y desarrollar el potencial de los demás.

  • Más de 5 años de experiencia escribiendo servicios web escalables y programación orientada a objetos para productos de tecnología de gran volumen, altamente confiables y orientados al consumidor.
