The Specialist, Export Compliance supports the continued development and implementation of the company’s export compliance program. This role reports to the Global Trade Compliance Export Manager and is an integral part of the Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team. The Export Compliance Specialist will help ensure that Sensata’s export compliance program successfully addresses all material risk areas related to the ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and other relevant trade compliance regulations.General Responsibilities:- Manage and monitor the implementation of the Technology Control Plan at the Sensata Mexico ITAR facility and other export compliance related procedures and work instructions for the site- Develop, deploy, and manage export compliance processes and procedures; participate in work groups to support the development and deployment of such processes and procedures.- Maintain and assist with the implementation of export compliance procedures and work instructions.- Help ensure the site has adequate export control processes in place and that such controls are functioning properly.- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects relating to export controls.- Provide support and guidance to the company on export compliance issues or questions.- Review export requests and determine authorization requirements and/or applicability for export exemptions and exceptions.- Support the preparation and submission of export authorizations. Track pending and approved export authorizations and maintain export authorization files- Assist with the management of export authorizations, exemptions, and exceptions; including approval of exports, recordkeeping requirements, provide guidance on scope, any reporting requirements to the USG, and close out or termination requirements.- Conduct internal reviews to identify risks and implement corrective actions. Develop corrective action plans based on findings from root cause analysis and implement processes to increase compliance, auditability and efficiency.- Identify and report to GTC management any potential compliance violations and any incidents involving significant weaknesses in processes or procedures.- Report and escalate any issues or potential violations.- Support internal, external, and government-directed export compliance audits and assessments.- Assist with the development of export control training materials, deliver export control trainings to functions based on the training program, and provide supplemental training and updates, as required.- Review and validate export classifications of parts and materials; must have capability in the complex analyses inherent to military/aerospace export controls and be able to determine when further escalation is required to arrive at accurate determinations.- Identify products for which Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) determinations or Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System (CCATS) requests would be appropriate and assist with the submissions.- Other duties as may be assigned as needed based on changing industry requirements.Key Competencies:- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and projects.- A passion for getting things right coupled with a commitment to finding solutions.- Flexibility in dealing with a variety of business partners, situations, and competing priorities.- A team player with ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.- Good change management agent, open-minded, result-oriented, pro-active.Job Qualifications:- Degree in business, supply chain, logistics, international trade, or legal or equivalent work experience.- 5 years or more years of US export compliance background, including experience with the ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations, including classification, licensing, reporting, and export program management.- Available to travel up to 10%.LI-IO1SmarterTogether- Collaborating at Sensata means working with some of the world’s most talented people in an enriching environment that is constantly pushing towards the next best thing- Employees work across functions, countries and cultures gaining new perspectives through mutual respect and open communication- As OneSensata, we are working together to make things work togetherClick here to viewSensata Recruitment Privacy StatementClick here to view ourSensata Recruitment Privacy Statement for China
