Our office space in Monterrey was designed to promote collaboration for our scrum teams and increase our development velocity. In addition, you'll enjoy a great view of the city, fresh coffee, and the occasional happy hour.***:The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is a broadly-based role responsible for the day-to-day revenue accounting functions including the month end close process and account reconciliation activities, as well as assisting with various weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reporting to senior management.**GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**- Uses financial data to prepare and record general ledger journal entries.- Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations.- Analyzes the financial statements and provides concise explanations for variances.- Researches period over period variances in revenue and cost of sales, as needed, and provides logical explanations for fluctuations.- Responsible for adhering to all internal controls and policies as set forth by the Controller. Includes maintaining evidence of the timely control performance for audit and SOX purposes.- Review new contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment. Ensure that the conclusion is appropriately documented and obtain sign- off by manager/Controller prior to recognizing revenue.- Other related duties assigned as needed.**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**Bachelor's degree in Accounting**GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, practices, and procedures- Ability to create spreadsheets and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software- Attention to detail and accuracy- Ability to prepare financial reports- Ability to understand financial information- Ability to work with entry-level and middle managers in analyzing financial situations- Ability to handle stressful situations- Ability to maintain confidentiality- Ability to meet deadlines- Ability to work in an organized manner and consistently follow-up on tasks- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees**JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTION**Moderate skills with high level of proficiency. Works under general supervision with increased latitude for independent judgment. Identifies non-routine issues and routes/escalates to appropriate team member. Works on multiple concurrent projects of medium complexity. Is an active team member, contributes to complex projects to gain experience, shares ideas and suggests process improvements appropriate for level of experience.
