CEMEX, a leading international building materials company, is looking for a Technical Service Engineer with Mechanical (preferred) or Electrical Engineering to support in improving specifications from sites for purchases from Chinese or Asian suppliers; perform after-sales service, drawing and surveying; as well as installation and commissioning support.**Main Responsibilities**:Parts and Equipment Specifications Support- Work with Global Operations and Technology (GO&T), as well as with Production and Maintenance teams in the business units to understand the requirements for the parts and equipment to be quoted- Obtain or research optimal mechanical and design specifications of the parts and equipment requested, considering wear and efficiency- Coordinate with CEMEX China and Chinese suppliers to ensure quotes and manufacturing is done according to the specifications requested.- Execution of a complete project with a sense of urgency. This consists of all mechanical aspects of equipment, including on-time, on budget, under specifications, and with qualityAfter-sales Service for Parts and Equipment- Recommend and support implementation of maintenance plans- Assist in fault diagnosis of parts and equipment purchased in China- Visits to business units’ sites to provide technical or trouble shooting support; during installation and commissioning; with the support of the supplier and CEMEX China- Prompt feedback of situation/progress/problems to customersDrawing and surveying on-site- Carry out on-site drawing and surveying and understanding of the working conditions for quotation requirements without drawings or working condition informationInstallation and commissioning support- During the on-site installation and commissioning by Chinese suppliers, coordinate the on-site work with business unit site, hire or assist in translations, report the progress and problems to CEMEX China, and supervise the implementation of solutions if necessary**Position Challenges**:- Dealing with uncertainty- Influencing other areas- Language and time zone barriers- Travel intensive to cement and aggregates sites, requiring strict safety measures**Qualifications**:- Proficiency in English, Spanish and Chinese (a plus)- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, experience in CEMEX or in the cement industry is preferred- Five years’ experience in project engineering or manufacturing- Five years’ after-sales service in an industrial setting preferred- Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings- CAD or similar software, MS Office and document processing capabilities- Good verbal and written communication skills- Proficient in change management and conflict resolution- Capacity to analyze, synthesize and solve problems- Intercultural skills, able to work in a virtual team environment and results oriented**Internal/External Relations**:INTERNAL- Procurement and Quality Engineers in CEMEX China- Cement and aggregates sites production and maintenance leaders- Local ProcurementEXTERNAL- Chinese suppliers- Local contractors**CEMEX Diversity and Inclusion Statement**:At Cemex, we recognize the diversity of the world in which we live and in which we do business.
