Job Description The mechanical electrical and plumbing coordinator is responsible for analyzing electromechanical and special installations, ensuring they meet the technical specifications of the project and Mexican legislation norms. The role involves elaborating and controlling reports, monitoring the qualification of contractor craftsmen, and recommending actions for improvement. The MEP works with responsibilities corresponding to the pipe/mechanical disciplines and does involve direct day‑to‑day monitoring of the work site. Responsibilities Analyze electromechanical and special installations and verify compliance with technical specifications and Mexican legislation. Elaborate and control reports and monitor contractor craftsmen qualification. Recommend actions for improvement. Direct day‑to‑day monitoring of the work site for pipe/mechanical disciplines. Contribute to risk analysis and updating project risks matrix. Interpret and implement safety standards and best practices. Plan and execute installation of process, electrical and mechanical equipment. Inspect plant fabrication of piping, equipment and installation. Plan and execute checkout, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities. Facilitate design reviews and clarify any doubts of the contractor. Review and evaluate contractor bids in bid levelling. Communicate with client operations regarding day‑to‑day site activities to plan stoppages and interfaces with existing buildings and systems. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a project manager coordinating MEP design and construction on industrial, manufacturing or hospitality projects. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering. Experience with electric, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and automation systems. Commissioning experience required. PMI certification a plus. Experience in LEED projects a plus. Fluent in English and Spanish. Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM. Skills and Qualifications Advanced knowledge in construction and site support activities. Capacity to analyze and evaluate construction drawings and technical specifications against Mexican or international standards. Knowledge of methodology to develop construction schedules and cost estimates. Support value engineering. Interpretation and application of safety standards. Installation of process, electrical, and mechanical equipment. Inspection of fabrication of piping and equipment installations. Checkout, pre‑commissioning and commissioning planning and execution. Planning, scheduling, and execution experience. Familiarity with quality requirements to define and review quality plans. Ability to plan and manage work for self and others. Facilitate and participate in design reviews. Understand scopes of work, drawings, and documents and clarify contractor doubts. Evaluate contractor bids in bid levelling.
