About the Role:

The Cloud Operations Engineer III administers and/or engineers server solutions or applications in support of Umpqua Bank initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-level customer service to bank associates.
  • Assisting or advising other TAG teams on technical issues.
  • Preparing system solution designs and implementing & maintaining complex enterprise-class systems and applications.
  • Analyzing the performance of infrastructure to assist with capacity planning in both public (Microsoft Azure) and private cloud environments.
  • Participating in vulnerability remediation on infrastructure components and Disaster Recovery planning/participation.
  • Implementing Infrastructure As Code (IAC) using tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
  • Measuring and improving the performance, uptime, cost, stability, and other operational characteristics of our cloud-based systems.
  • Writing runbooks and rehearsing scenarios to ensure efficient incident response.
  • Researching, analyzing, recommending, and implementing solutions within their scope and enhancements.
  • Sharing rotation of on-call duties after hours and weekends to respond to emergency outages in Azure.
  • Demonstrating compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job functions.
  • Coaching, mentoring, or training others as needed.

About You:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent required.

4-7 years’ experience in system or network engineering in a mid-size company with a proven track record of success.

Strong coordination, organization, troubleshooting, and communication abilities required.

Proven experience with building and maintaining cloud systems and infrastructure.

You are familiar with Git and understand the role that version control plays in software development.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Very strong customer service orientation.

MCP/MCSA/MCSE certifications are a plus.

Workstyle: Fully onsite.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $74,418.00 to $116,943.20, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors.
