Founded in 1979, Nova Steel is an independent enterprise and industry leader with several lines of business across the North American steel sector. With an array of products and services including automotive slit coil, pickling, cut-to-length and blanking slit coil for stamping, automotive tube, tubular parts, and more, we have gained more than 40 years of steel processing, manufacturing, and distribution expertise. We also offer value-added steel products processed for the end-user.
With 19 locations in North America and several new constructions underway in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, we take pride in being easy to work with and make it our goal to adapt ourselves continuously in the ever-evolving business world.
Due to strong growth, our sales department is adding an Inside Sales Representative to the team. This is a full-time position that will be based at our Stoney Creek location, and is 100% onsite.
Job DescriptionThe Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for:
- Inventory control, generating leads, and maintaining accounts to achieve and exceed the company’s objectives.
- Responding to all inquiries and promptly provide information regarding order status, deliveries, quality, or other inquiries
- Developing relationships with customers in Purchasing, Receiving, Quality, etc.
- Communicating customer requirements within Nova’s internal production, shipping, and quality departments.
- Receiving and entering customer orders accurately and efficiently following company parameters.
- Receiving customer forecasts and entering information into Nova’s MRP ensuring accuracy.
- Leading role in working with an outside sales representative to ensure proper inventory levels – master coils as well as finished goods.
- Identifying and resolving issues relating to customer forecasts and mill lead times.
- Acting as the liaison between other Nova departments – Purchasing, Scheduling, Shipping, and Finance.
- Developing a strong understanding of the job procedures as well as equipment capabilities.
- Maintaining composure under stressful situations and high customer demands.
- Working with others in a team atmosphere.
- Demonstrating a reliable, dependable work effort and positive work attitude.
Qualifications:
- University of college graduate
- Minimum of 2 years inside sales experience preferred
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in math, ability to multiply and divide to ensure orders are accurate and reduce scrap or raw material
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
