Job Description – MODERN TRADE HEAD

Context
Highly developed channel, with a high concentration in few customers, strong competition, handling a category very relevant in value with high dependency on promotional activities; tough negotiations will be part of the business as usual. Moving from transactional to strategic relationship where JUBP need to be developed with top accounts, looking to be category leaders and excel in our execution at POS.
There is still room to grow distribution in the convenience arena but focus needs to be in vertical growth by store, aligning the right portfolio and mix, and setting creative shopper initiatives to lead the growth against beer and gaining TBA share, considering value creation for the client, the consumer and Diageo.
Purpose of Role
- Lead the commercial agenda with modern trade customers, to assure NSV, trade investment, share & margin gain, and exceed executional targets
- Negotiate strategic 3-year plans with key accounts
- Assure a good and year after year improvement in the Advantage evaluation
- Incentive and develop commercial talent
- Align with all local and global commercial policies
- Encourage a multifunctional team to drive breakthrough and over deliver
Functional capabilities
Externally focused commercial strategy development and execution
- Uses strong understanding of external environment to drive the creation and execution of a clear and powerful commercial plan
- Has a deep and instinctive understanding of what works for the customer and the shopper/drinker developing effective strategies to make Diageo an indispensable partner to our customers

- Able to identify and prioritize the highest value crafting activities that increase return on investment and Market share growth
- Instinctively knows when and where to intervene nurturing great ideas and stopping bad ones
Strategic Commercial and financial thinking
- Is an authority in the levers of value creation and margin improvement: Translates these into succinct business propositions and mentors others to operate in this way.
- Uses a mixture of intuition, experience and data to advise decisions identifying, analyzing and selecting strategies for growth.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Studies in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales or Engineering.
- Sales experience in CPG’s companies (12 to 15 years)
- Confirmed record in people management, evaluation, development, motivation, etc.
- Key account management experience, Project management
- Great teammate and leader
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Proficient Spanish and English required
- Proficient in Sales Capabilities
- Management of multiple / senior partners knows how to hold others to account
