Who are we looking for? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague to join our team as Area Operations Manager. The Area Operations Manager is responsible for managing the facility’s operations comprehensively by planning, coordinating, and controlling resources, inventories, safety, and administrative processes, in order to optimize capacity and performance, ensure regulatory compliance, drive cost efficiency, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the business. Essential Job Functions Manage facility operations to optimize equipment, materials, and labor for maximum capacity and cost reduction. Review daily inventories by verifying scale loads and tickets. Conduct monthly reconciliations of raw material inventories with the Finance team. Prepare and monitor the annual budget. Oversee procurement of spare parts and machinery. Manage payment processes for energy, parts, and services, ensuring compliance with policies. Collaborate with the Regional Safety Manager for compliance with health and safety regulations. Participate in cross-functional meetings to coordinate operational activities. Ensure daily operations meet standards and schedules. Motivate the team to enhance quality, safety, and cost performance. Plan and oversee strategic equipment improvement projects. Schedule required trainings for personnel in coordination with the Regional Safety Management team. Ensure compliance with risk assessments for non-routine activities. Work with the Regional Safety Management team to meet EHS management system goals. Integrate EHS criteria in supplier and contractor evaluations. Maintain and improve health and safety programs, including audits and emergency preparedness. Prepare monthly performance reports for Operations Management and other teams. Generate reports for the Sustainability area. Perform additional departmental duties as needed. Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills 6+ years of experience in grain elevators or terminals. 3+ years of experience in management/administration. Proven experience in leading large teams (more than 20 people). Advanced English proficiency. Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in Agriculture, Business, Engineering, or related field. Knowledge of truck scale operations. Familiarity with industry-related machinery. Preferred experience in railway track maintenance management or previous experience in industrial facilities operating with rail systems.
