Job Title: Guest Services Agent

Company: River Cruises Europe

Purpose of the Position: Providing guests with friendly and personalized front-desk service, including concierge services, 24/7, while maintaining high standards of guest services.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Be the central information point for all guests
  • Handle all on board sales transactions
  • Operate phone switchboard, cashless system, and safety system
  • Ensure smooth operation of guest infotainment system
  • Provide 24h Concierge Services
  • Plan embarkation/disembarkation
  • Ensure smooth check-ins and check-outs
  • Maintain and update the daily logbook
  • Handle guest manifests and special requests
  • Prepare guest lists, party invitations, menus, and special notes
  • Coordinate guest disembarkations
  • Assist with guests' departure arrangements and travel connections
  • Organize guest information documents
  • Assist with shore excursions
  • Deal effectively with customers, resolving conflicts with tact and diplomacy

Teamwork: Must display outstanding flexibility, work in different shifts, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.

Product Knowledge:

  • Enter and control guest checks into the IT system
  • Acquire knowledge about ports of call and shore excursions
  • Produce the daily program
  • Update the onboard Infotainment system
  • Understand computer systems including MXP, Anveo, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

KPI Performance: Achieve departmental KPI goals as part of the guest services team.

Security:

  • Understand safety and security procedures
  • Participate in all safety and security training
  • Perform fire and security patrols during night shifts
  • Correctly raise internal alarms

Your Profile:

  • High school diploma required, hospitality degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position in upscale cruise line/hotel
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Well-groomed with high hygiene standards
  • Flexible with a customer-focused and service-oriented approach
  • Good command of English and preferably a second language
