1.-Organize new parts into commonality codes.

2.-Cycle all parts/commonality codes in the plant twice yearly while simultaneously cycling the same parts at bailments/consignments while staying on schedule

3.-Coordinate work load of hourly cycle checkers

4.-Cycle all Bulk Material quarterly.

5.-Cycle Balance-Out Parts for all areas in order to provide accurate inventories for remaining builds.

6.-Cycle Manual Pending counts entered within 5 business days.

7.-Complete last cycle for dis-continued parts.

8.-Work with analysts to resolve negative balance on hand inventory situations within 7 days.

9.-Meet with production teams to gather information and organize counts with their assistance to garner accurate information and capture unknown nuances that will improve the accuracy of the cycle count.

10.-Coordinate plant floor information with CMMS transactions in order to establish potential Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Plans.

11.-Visit plant responsible Consignments/Bailments for inventory accurac

12.-Complete Out of Tolerance Cycle Root Cause Analysis Sheets for all Out of Tolerance parts in-plant and at the bailments.

13.-Complete Cycle Summary Sheet indicating Variances from the same family of parts in order to better understand the relationships between Gross Variances.

14.-Have all cycles ready to review and sign weekly at the Inventory/Cycles Meeting.

Position Duties:

-Review and resolve negative inventory balances on a daily basis. Determine root cause (e.g., review transaction corrections, production counts, etc.). Take appropriate corrective action and annotate report accordingly. Ensure that all negative balances are being resolved within 7 days.

-Perform 41/81 inventory adjustments transactions when appropriate back up documentation is available.

-Review the monthly bulk parts one-sided adjustments report and ensure usage is adjusted correctly.

-Look at parts that are cycled too often and help investigate root cause and corrective actions

-Weekly review of all miscellaneous and production no charge shippers to assure the transaction was appropriate.

-Generate the InterCompany Settlement System (ICS) mismatch reports and work to resolve identified issues

-Follow-up with appropriate personnel regularly to ensure timely disposition and shipment of obsolete material

-Identify and administer plant personnel that require additional CMMS training

-Review all rejected items on CMMS (QABA) not dispositioned within 30 days.

-Identify material not found on QABA (non-compliant) and disposition.

-Identify scrap material that is not properly tagged and disposition.

-Examine process for managing the reporting of shipping discrepancies and the use of the 2714 process. Identify and implement improved procedures as necessary.

-Identify, develop, and implement cost-saving projects

-Assist with plant launches and balance outs. Act as a resource person for Cycle checking, shortages, premium freight reductions, obsolescence, mis-usages, BOM errors

-Verify Plant is compliant with Modular Control Review Process (MCRP) guidelines. Develop corrective actions/processes to achieve compliance/metric.

-Assist with upcoming internal General Auditor's Office (GAO) audits, and outside Ford appointed auditors (Price Waterhouse Coopers)

-Work closely with parts control manager on cost savings objectives and parts control performance measurables.

-Support MP&L Staff/Plant in achieving Inventory target, including Inventoy roadmaps kept up-to-date with feasible action items

-Develop inventory reports to present to management at the inventory meetings. Lead discussions and develop actions to address inventory issues and provide corrective actions.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Science degree required.

-Degree in Logistics, Supply chain, Material Planning and Logistics, Business Admin, operations, etc. is preferred but flexible

-Plant experience desired but not required.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly and salaried personnel
  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision making capability
  • Proficient in computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc...)
  • Experience required in Ford's Common Manufacturing Management System (CMMS)
  • Prior experience in materials management functions preferred
  • Material Planning and Logistics experience desired
