This position is critical for maintaining business continuity and supporting the SouLACC region by providing essential financial planning, analysis, and reporting. It is a key partner for the commercial team, helping to achieve profit growth targets through focused pricing, volume opportunities, cost management, and operational expense efficiency.

Meaningful Work From Day One

This role's primary responsibilities include providing financial management, generating analytical insights, and fulfilling reporting needs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for Southern Latin America, Central America, and the Caribbean (SouLACC) regions.

This role will support the Senior Finance Manager-SouLACC on several aspects of financial management, including but not limited to achieving profit growth targets focusing on volume, cost management, and operating expense effectiveness, among others. The role will also involve responsibility for business planning activities, such as conducting monthly business reviews, regional rolling forecast consolidation, and overall follow-up on financial metrics.

What You Can Expect

Financial Management:

  • Work closely with the SouLACC teams to manage the full P&L, helping to identify key drivers of the business performance and serving as the day-to-day point of contact on assigned finance-related issues.
  • Achieve a thorough understanding of the assigned business and support the team in updating pricing, controlling margins, creating new SKUs, evaluating performance, identifying brand investment opportunities, etc.
  • Provide monthly management analysis and insights for assigned markets; track, analyze, and report on discounting and brand expenses to ensure that stakeholders are informed and remain within planned amounts.
  • Participate in and support the financial aspects of monthly and quarterly business reviews (MBRs & QBRs) with the region.
  • Work with the accounting team to ensure our financial results are accurately reported (proper expense classification within the P&L line items, properly supported accruals, monitoring of receivables, etc.).
  • Ensure supporting analytical tools/reports are accurate and updated on time.

Planning and Forecasting

  • Support the development, review, and submission of rolling forecasts throughout the year, ensuring the timely submission and integrity of data for SouLACC.
  • Identify and explain key drivers for variances.
  • Monthly assessment of risks and upsides vs. the latest rolling forecast.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, analyses and documents, including White Papers, relating to forecasting and long-term planning.

Commercial support and analytical insights

  • Interact with the distributor's finance teams and participate in their business reviews to understand and stay informed about the overall business.
  • Maintain knowledge of external industry trends, utilizing data sources such as IWSR, Nielsen, etc.
  • Maintain and analyze price structures/value chains for markets where the data is available, ensuring the structures properly reflect the current market conditions (transfer prices, margins, shelf pricing, taxes, etc.).
  • Support the development of long-term strategic plans and multi-year investment case proposals.

Brand Expense and SG&A control

  • Assist with planning, tracking, and reporting A&P spending to ensure that the Sales/Marketing teams (or distributors) are within permitted spending levels.
  • Provide projections for the area's SG&A cost centers during planning and forecasting cycles as needed throughout the year.
  • Analyze monthly Brand Expense and SG&A reports to ensure alignment with plans, investigating details in partnership with the accounting team as needed.
  • Owns detailed management of SoulaCC SG&A costs.
  • Provides ad hoc analytical support throughout the SoulaCC region as required, including, but not limited to, financial modeling, deep dives into the P&L, investment case reviews, etc.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with various software packages, particularly SAP, BW, Tableau, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Google Suite, etc.
  • Familiarity with consumer takeaway (Nielsen, IRI, etc.) and industry (IWSR) data.
  • Experience working with foreign currencies.
  • Ability to accurately handle and manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills (English, Spanish), with the ability to discuss complex financial information at the appropriate level of detail depending on the audience.
  • Intellectual curiosity and professional maturity to provide management with objective and impartial analysis, including using sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on logical assumptions and factual information.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
