We are currently seeking applicants for our HEAD OF NEW MARKETS position. The Head of New Markets is responsible for expanding the Company’s financial reinsurance portfolio through researching new markets and new structures which solve client needs around capital and liquidity optimization. This position is key in developing new solutions which can be sold to clients. This position is also responsible for promoting Hannover Re Bermuda’s Life and Health’s expertise on financial solutions internally and externally. The employee shall also undertake such additional or other duties as the Company may reasonably require from time to time. Main Responsibilities Actively researching and developing new tailor‑made structures and approaches for Life and Health Financial Solutions in new or existing markets. Proactively pursuing new business and market opportunities with existing and new clients/business partners. Actively analyzing and monitoring Life and Health insurance regulation. Developing pricing models and assumptions for various line of business in various geographical locations. Analyzing, modelling and pricing new business opportunities in accordance with group and local guidelines. Ensuring compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements. Treaty related duties (writing, reviewing, validating, registering, archiving). Supporting Business Development team in performing technical and peer reviews of pricing and treaty wording. Monitoring performance of new structures implemented. Promoting HRB’s expertise in financial solutions by participating in/leading internal and external events. Building and enhancing relationships with clients, brokers and other entities of the Group. Support in the creation and implementation of the company’s marketing and new business strategy. Ensuring information and training of business development team concerning new structures / solutions. Supporting the business planning and forecasting process. Requirements Fellow of Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or other life actuarial qualifications from a recognized professional body. Minimum of 10 years technical actuarial experience in pricing life and health (re)insurance covering mortality, morbidity, health and critical illness. Minimum of 5 years experience in the specialist field of financial reinsurance. Geographical experience in our target markets of UK, Europe and Asia Pacific. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong sales and marketing abilities. Demonstrated success to support new business acquisition. Creative mindset to develop new solutions depending on different regulations. Ability to develop a strategy and effectively delegate and control the process. Assured approach to dealing with internal and external customers. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and to produce quality deliverables on time with tight deadlines. Ability to work outside office hours to respect client’s time zone difference. Technically proficient in MS Excel, Visual basic, Database management tools, MS PowerPoint and MS Word. Hannover Re (Bermuda) Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer.
