Advanced Launch Manager

Key Accountabilities:
- Manage launch reports, cost walks, and one-page summaries.
- Report status of current production leverage opportunities, sourcing plans, carryover parts/capacity, and raw material economic exposure
- Responsible for capacity planning and communication to suppliers.
- Participate in cross functional teams, including Engineering, Program Management, Supplier Development, and Manufacturing Site Team to support disposition of supplier change request and engineering change notice final decisions.
- Support the change management process to ensure alignment between BorgWarner Engineering and Supplier as well as ensuring the purchase order is to the correct design revision level.
- Assist negotiations of basic supplier agreements.
- Coordinates supplier relationship with internal functions.
- Achieve cost and performance objectives in line with existing strategies.
- Responsible for the sourcing of new components that are not included in existing commodity strategies.
- Work to identify and execute improvement opportunities when budget overages exist in the Bill of Materials.
- Responsible for managing supplier tooling.
- Individual contributor
- Work is generally not supervised in detail.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Administration Required
- 5-8 years of purchasing experience working in an automotive production purchasing environment, with a focus on new product launch.
- Experience with Electronics and Mechanical components preferred.
- Capable of working in a team-based environment

- Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication required - Position interacts with all levels of Management (both within BorgWarner and suppliers)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- SAP knowledge a plus.
- Must be self-motivated/directed. Required to determine most, if not all, of own work assignments; both tactical and strategic. Requires mínimal management input to achieve objectives.
