**JOB SUMMARY**

Analyst, Commercial Franchise Support CALA is a key member of the CALA Commercial Franchise Support and CALA Owner & Franchise Services Team.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

**Education and Experience**
- 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Information Management, or related major
- 3+ years of proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Tableau etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong hotel/ market experience and/or knowledge with a familiarity of Marriott lodging products/ brands/ hotel operations.
- Excellent project management skills, with ability to independently manage multiple projects.
- Ability to communicate data specifications, deadlines and project requirements to suppliers clearly and concisely.
- Team plaver. Builds strong relationships and collaborates with region and corporate stakeholders.
- Ability to interface with operations research and systems professionals in order to develop/refine decision support systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Portuguese is preferred.

**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases / data systems.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Develop presentations that compare data, highlight opportunities, and focuses on qualitative and quantitative issues in compliance with Marriott data sharing SOPs for internal and external stakeholders.
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities. Monitor, evaluate and contribute to the enhancement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue management systems.
- Develop measurement techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of property/brand/owner/franchisee pricing and major pricing initiatives.
- Responsible for performance monitoring, as well as proper usage of, and training on, systems/tools in the region.
- Respond to requests from the VP Owner / Franchise Services, Senior Director Franchise Commercial Support and Senior Director Consumer Operations Analytics in CALA to support ad-hoc analysis and escalations arising from Owners and Franchisees.
- Position may require up to 25% travel.
- Complies with Marriott CALA Regional Office policies and procedures.
