The Lead Sales Strategy Analyst position is centered around Sales Strategy & Programs, leveraging a combination of market research, predictive modeling, and business analytics to derive comprehensive business insights that support Zendesk's Go To Market (GTM) initiatives and leadership. This role is integral to a dynamic team dedicated to shaping strategy and enhancing GTM programs through data analysis, establishing financial objectives, and proactively advising on deviations and potential investments that influence business decisions aimed at boosting revenue and profitability.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, coupled with the capability to evaluate the effectiveness of cross-company program support and deliver analytical assistance alongside practical, forward-looking operational insights for senior management. This position offers exposure to critical functional areas such as strategy, sales, marketing, customer experience, finance, and analytics. The Lead Sales Strategy Analyst will operate as an individual contributor and report directly to the Senior Director of GTM Sales Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to analyze data and provide insights that will inform and drive Sales Strategy.
  • Perform business performance analysis to identify potential challenges and present strategic recommendations to GTM leadership for informed decision-making and investment.
  • Support essential cross-functional initiatives and connect strategy to operations by partnering with key stakeholders, including Product Marketing, Product Strategy, Sales Enablement, Sales Operations, and Sales teams.
  • Identify avenues for growth through regular evaluations of business performance and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Work in tandem with Sales Operations to analyze and uncover opportunities for enhancing sales productivity.
  • Conduct analyses such as Total Addressable Market (TAM)/Serviceable Available Market (SAM), Propensity Modeling, account tiering, market segmentation, and pipeline analysis.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a sales strategy or analytics role.
  • Strong understanding of the software industry and SaaS sales and marketing frameworks.
  • Experience in sales, marketing, or customer success is advantageous.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and data analytics/modeling tools; familiarity with SQL is essential.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities: demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities, structure complex issues, conduct in-depth analyses, derive business insights, and develop actionable solutions.
  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively and deliver impactful results in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • A highly collaborative team player who can work independently across functions and build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Educational background: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics) preferred, along with an MBA/MS in Business/Finance/Accounting.
