Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual to assist in the monthly close process, maintain an effective internal control environment, and support our financial reporting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Review invoices for accuracy and proper approvals, ensuring correct general ledger account codes are used.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and inspect paid and unpaid invoices, including cleared payment inquiries and check voiding.
- Assist with the setup of new suppliers and respond to external vendors and internal managers regarding accounts payable processes.
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with invoice and purchase order processing.
- Generate payments to vendors on a routine schedule and match checks with backup for review.
- Initiate wire transfers and ACH transactions through online banking portals.
- Reconcile corporate credit cards and prepare journal entries for expense tracking.
- Manage and audit expense reports from different locations and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Monitor accounts payable data and ensure accuracy in general ledgers.
- Prepare and review monthly accruals of unrecorded invoices and P.O. expenses.
- Coordinate monthly and quarterly close processes and participate in other close activities as necessary.
- Work with auditors to answer questions and provide supporting documentation for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
- 2-3 years of accounts payable experience.
- Open to learning and being proactive, with personal initiative.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong MS Excel skills and experience with Oracle or other Accounting Software (ERP's).
