About the Role

This position plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base at Kansas City Southern. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, identifying new business opportunities, and developing strategies to increase sales and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain direct communication with other departments to ensure alignment with sales and marketing plans.
  • Manage customer relationships by creating solutions to meet their business needs.
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers.
  • Develop and implement account strategies and plans to drive revenue growth.
  • Plan and analyze revenue and contributions, forecasting market outlook and determining market share.
  • Work to optimize market share and total contribution.
  • Handle all business development activities within the business unit.
  • Manage the onboarding, implementation, and first movement of current customers and prospects.
  • Administer contract renewals, advance coordination, and track actual gains, losses, and commitments.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Exemplify KCS values and culture in interactions with coworkers, business partners, customers, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job-related major field of study.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • KCS network experience, specifically in sales, marketing, customer relations, rail, or logistics.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish, written and spoken.

Working Conditions

  • This position has a regular full-time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday.
  • This position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.
