About the Role

The Regional Transformation Portfolio Services Senior Manager is a critical position within the Risk and Compliance Transformation organization at HSBC. This role is responsible for supporting the Risk and Compliance Transformation Head in creating and leading a World Class Business Engineering organization that is recognized as market leading both internally and externally.

The successful candidate will act as a primary contact for the administration around the entire regional portfolio and ensure the delivery of key and major change initiatives in the region, following the proposed business plan, target dates, milestones, etc. This role will also play the role of a 'trusted advisor' internally in the Transformation community and to Risk and Compliance stakeholders in senior management by constructively challenging their thinking and helping them prioritize their change needs, aligning the change programme to local needs and to the requirements defined by the Risk and Compliance organization.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop Long and Short-Term Plans: Develop long and short-term plans for the Country in accordance with the Risk and Compliance Transformation strategy.
  • Support Risk and Compliance Transformation Leadership: Support the Risk and Compliance Transformation leadership in managing and leading change in the region through deployment of priority programmes.
  • Coordinate Country and Regional Transformation Programmes: Support coordination of country and regional transformation programmes.
  • Build Change Framework Competency: Build change framework competency within the function.
  • Ensure Close Working with Delivery Partners: Ensure close working with delivery partners on planning, design and estimating, bringing together delivery and business partner teams; actively managing dependencies between these teams and other projects and programmes.
  • Ensure Global Programmes Have Sufficient Support: Ensure global programmes have sufficient support / resource from a regional perspective.
Leadership and Teamwork
  • Undertake Workforce Planning: Undertake workforce planning for regional resources with an impetus on building multiple capabilities to support future business requirements within region.
  • Build Collaboration between Teams: Build collaboration between Risk and Compliance Transformation teams, sharing best practice, ensuring consistency of approach and delivery.
  • Promote an Open and Connected Work Culture: Promote an open, connected and dependable work culture within Risk and Compliance Transformation based on HSBC Values of respect for people, integrity of actions, creativity and collaboration leading to increased productivity.
  • Drive Development of Recruitment Strategy: Drive the development of recruitment strategy for the Risk and Compliance Transformation function to ensure the right people for the right programmes are inducted in line with the role competencies and skills required.
  • Deliver Regional Skill Uplift: Deliver regional skill uplift through the R&C Transformation Academy and Accreditation programme using professional development activities such as training, accreditation, knowledge sharing, talent management and career planning.
  • Implement Targeted Strategies: Implement targeted strategies to identify, develop and retain talent and support in their transition to more accountable roles.
  • Deploy Policy and Procedures: Deploy policy and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to recruitment, selection and employee development.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Outstanding Understanding of HSBC Group Structures: Outstanding understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes and objectives.
  • Good Knowledge of External Environment: Good knowledge of the external environment – regulatory, political, competitors etc.
  • Outstanding Knowledge of Transformation Projects: Outstanding knowledge of Transformation projects, preferably on risk and compliance type of portfolios– functionally, operationally and financially.

The successful candidate will have:
