Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will lead and develop a team of software engineers focused on creating solutions for the Amazon Photos Desktop application. Your leadership will emphasize Ownership and Customer Obsession, ensuring adherence to the highest engineering standards and software quality.
You will collaborate with product management to outline and implement a roadmap of features that delight our customers. Working closely with various teams across Amazon, you will design and architect scalable solutions for millions of users.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate is an experienced Software Development Manager with a proven history of building teams and delivering outstanding customer-facing software solutions. You thrive in ambiguous situations and can effectively partner with program and product managers to develop strategic roadmaps.
Your expertise spans full-stack development, encompassing front-end applications and the services that support them, along with a keen understanding of excellent user experience principles. As a skilled agile practitioner, you will keep your team focused on delivering results while aligning technology with business objectives.

Essential Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- 6+ years of engineering experience
- Familiarity with engineering practices and methodologies across the full software/hardware/network development lifecycle
- Experience collaborating with product or program management teams
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and articulate software product features
- Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams to enhance their skills and effectiveness
- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English
