It is also seamlessly integrated with Alexa devices like Echo Show and Echo Spot.

Key Responsibilities:

In the role of Senior Engineer, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic vision for the teams developing Amazon Photos solutions, particularly focusing on our Desktop application.
  • Ensure adherence to best engineering practices, designing software that is responsive, reliable, and maintainable.
  • Influence product vision by collaborating with designers and product teams to create software that serves millions of users.
  • Collaborate with various teams across Amazon to architect scalable solutions for a vast customer base.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for fellow engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, C++, or C#, with a strong foundation in object-oriented design.
  • Experience in leading design or architecture of systems, focusing on reliability and scalability.
  • Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams.

Preferred Skills:

Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in developing cross-platform Desktop applications.
  • Experience in creating and scaling web services in a rapidly growing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
  • Experience in defining system architecture and evaluating technical feasibility.
