As we continue to expand our digital offerings, following the success of Amazon Music and Amazon Video, we aim to enhance the growth and adoption of Amazon Photos globally, ensuring our customers enjoy an exceptional product.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will lead and develop a team of software engineers focused on creating solutions for the Amazon Photos Desktop application. Your leadership will emphasize Ownership and Customer Obsession, ensuring adherence to top engineering practices and maintaining high software quality.
You will collaborate with product management to define and execute a roadmap filled with features that delight our customers. Working closely with various teams across Amazon, you will design and architect scalable solutions for millions of users.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is an experienced Software Development Manager with a proven history of building effective teams and delivering outstanding customer-facing software solutions. You thrive in ambiguous situations and can work alongside partners, program managers, and product managers to develop and implement strategic roadmaps.
Your expertise spans full-stack development, including front-end applications and backend services, with a keen understanding of what constitutes an excellent user experience. As a skilled agile practitioner, you will keep your team focused on delivering results while aligning technology with business objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Build, motivate, and mentor a diverse team of engineers.
- Prioritize and plan projects and features, manage partnerships, and track commitments.
- Enhance the efficiency and flexibility of software while maintaining high standards for customer trust, performance, and availability.
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and UX Designers to define and execute your team's objectives.
- Contribute to quarterly and yearly planning processes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years of experience in engineering team management.
- 6+ years of engineering experience.
- Familiarity with engineering practices and patterns throughout the software/hardware/networks development lifecycle.
- Experience collaborating with product or program management teams.
- Proven ability to communicate with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and articulate software product features.
- Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
- Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
