Job Description

Job Title: Technical Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to our customers and internal teams on wind turbine troubleshooting and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced troubleshooting of geared and direct drive wind turbines through the analysis of remote data
  • Guiding site technicians through nondestructive testing and troubleshooting through the telephone, video calls, or augmented reality technology
  • Attending phone calls from sites and responding to technical queries by listening carefully and providing step-by-step guidance in troubleshooting of turbines
  • Helping sites, commissioning teams, spares and supplies teams, and after-market teams with parts identification, specifications, and finding alternate parts to enable reducing turbine downtime
  • Responding to cases in various case management systems like Salesforce, MORS, Windhub, and JIRA on a first-come-first-served basis unless it is a turbine down
  • Helping the training team by providing technical guidance and conducting training sessions as and when needed, conducting customer visits to remote operations centers
  • Ensuring response times of less than 48 hours and case completion/escalation within 5 days
  • Helping the commissioning team with all technical issues during the commissioning and handing over of turbines from project to operations phase
  • Helping the documentation team for creating draft documents by providing technical/quality/safety inputs
  • Helping the Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety team to conduct Rapid Risk Assessments, create, and disseminate quality documents and bulletins as and when needed
  • Assessing and quantifying failure trends and material consumption through the use of data analytics
  • Being extremely organized with respect to documentation and being able to access the same asap
  • Being willing to travel up to 25% of the time and work hands-on in the turbine at a height of 70 meters, as and when necessary
  • Requiring great verbal and written communication skills, customer service-driven, professional, and positive attitude all the time
  • Needing to undergo and pass a fitness test, basic climb, rescue, CPR, classroom, and hands-on training at a training center and site/s

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • OR Associate Engineering degree with hands-on work experience in wind turbine trouble-shooting or major component change-outs
  • OR Diploma with hands-on experience in wind turbine trouble-shooting or major component change-outs
  • Preference for bilingual/trilingual English/Spanish/Portuguese
