About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer to join our team at Emerson. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and innovation in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Optimization: Apply your expertise in Lean & 5S principles to streamline operations, improve safety, minimize waste, and optimize efficiency across manufacturing processes.
  • Technology Integration: Identify and evaluate opportunities to introduce new technologies and methodologies in our operations to enhance process efficiency and product quality. Work with operations teams to develop Scope of Work (SOW), capital investment plan, and Return on Investment (value) justification for projects.
  • Equipment Assessment: Lead assessments of existing operational equipment by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to fortify processes and mitigate risk through the implementation of industrial solutions.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with external suppliers to source capital equipment, support contract negotiations, develop acceptance criteria, and ensure timely delivery of materials. Maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Project Management: Lead and implement simultaneous projects related to manufacturing process improvements, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with NPD teams to ensure new products adhere to design for manufacturing standard processes.
  • Operational Support: Provide support to various functions within operations as needed, fostering a multi-functional and collaborative environment. Working collectively across multiple manufacturing sites to develop / implement global guidelines and define standard methodologies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field such as industrial technology. Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of significant experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on new product introductions, equipment development, new technology, and product line transfers.
  • Skills: Strong analytical abilities to collect, analyze, and interpret data for informed decision-making and process improvement. Confirmed project management skills with the ability to complete projects successfully. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and solving problems.
  • Language: Good written and oral communication skills on both, English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technology Expertise: Competence with technology, including PLC programming and integration of electro-mechanical systems.
  • ERP Systems: Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Systems Integration: Understanding of systems integration languages like SQL to establish communication between Oracle and automated equipment.
  • PMP Certification: PMP Certification.
  • New Product Development: Experience with new product development teams for ensuring successful product launch by coordinating production readiness and establishing robust sustainment plans.
  • Statistical Analysis: Ability to apply statistical analysis tools such as Excel and Minitab for distribution interpretation, control chart generation, Cpk calculation, etc.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in Spanish/English.
  • Assembly Automation: Experience implementing automated assembly process utilizing, position sensors, actuators, material feeders, conveyors, barcoding, digital work instructions, & vision systems in a high mix & low volume manufacturing environment.
  • SCADA Systems: Experience implementing SCADA systems to analyze and process industrial data.
  • Test Techniques: Experience with various test techniques to measure leak rate, flow rate, hypot, and response time using LabVIEW and/or PLC.
  • ERP Routings: Understanding of ERP routings and standards.
  • Assembly Automation: Assembly automation experience, fixing design and installation experience.
