Job Summary

The Natrona County School is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavior and Substitute Support Personnel to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our schools and providing a safe and supportive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and assist students to ensure their continued education and well-being.
  • Implement lesson plans and deliver group and individual student instruction within established guidelines.
  • Model and mentor appropriate behavior for students, promoting a positive and respectful school culture.
  • Assess and monitor behavioral improvement, working closely with teachers and administrators to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Assist in the implementation of behavior modification programs, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report student behavior and performance, providing regular updates to teachers and administrators.
Essential Functions
  • Be flexible and adaptable in response to changing assignments and priorities, ensuring student learning objectives are met.
  • Advocate for students, building relationships and developing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assign discipline to students under the guidance of building administration or principal designee, ensuring students receive appropriate consequences.
  • Assist classroom teachers and guidance counselors with at-risk students, maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Attend meetings to gather and disseminate information, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with building staff to receive clear direction and expectations, ensuring a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and community resources, to participate in needs assessments and develop positive professional relationships.
  • Develop ongoing, positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and community resources, providing information and support to ensure student success.
  • Facilitate learning processes, including skill development in social appropriateness, anger management, conflict resolution, and bullying prevention.
  • Facilitate student programs, including social-emotional learning, Crime Stoppers, and mentorship, to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Guide students in personal interactions and specific student issues, developing interpersonal skills and successful problem-solving strategies.
  • Implement plans and goals set forth by regular classroom teachers, ensuring consistency in classroom management and normal classroom routines.
  • Implement proactive behavioral strategies, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Maintain manual and electronic documentation files and records, providing written reference and reliable information for administration and instructional teams.
  • Monitor students within various activities, ensuring their health, safety, and welfare.
  • Monitor positive behaviors, promoting appropriate social and interpersonal behavior in alignment with district goals.
  • Monitor students within various school environments, ensuring student compliance with established regulations and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Oversee special events, including varsity athletics, dances, and theatre productions, maintaining safe extracurricular activities.
  • Provide positive reinforcement to students, acting as a role model and supporting students in meeting individual plan objectives and school-wide discipline plans.
  • Respond to emergency situations, addressing immediate safety concerns and directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
Certifications and Licenses

A valid State of Wyoming Teaching License or Substitute Teaching Permit is required for this position.
