Structurer for Innovative Risk Solutions in Latin America

As a key member of the Innovative Risk Solutions ('IRS') team at Swiss Re, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the IRS Latin America team in the origination, structuring, and execution of a diverse array of Alternative Risk Transfer Solutions tailored for corporate and public sector clients. This position reports directly to the Head of Innovative Risk Solutions for Latin America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the IRS Latin America team in various origination, structuring, and execution initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional deal teams, ensuring effective deal monitoring.
  • Collaborate with CDM to promote and market Innovative Risk Solutions to brokers and clients.
  • Work alongside CDM, Underwriting Teams, and the Global IRS team to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Group Compliance and Underwriting standards in collaboration with all stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Underwriting, Products, Legal, Finance teams, brokers, Risk, and Captive Managers.
  • Guarantee adherence to regulatory, accounting, tax, and legal standards to mitigate reputational risks.
  • Contribute to establishing SRCS's IRS team as a trusted partner in the market for innovative risk and capital management solutions and thought leadership.

About You:

Professional Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in the Latin American (Re-)insurance sector.
  • Extensive experience in the direct insurance market, particularly in Underwriting, Risk Management, or Insurance Marketing, complemented by hands-on experience in structuring and executing Alternative Risk Transfer solutions.
  • Proven ability to work in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of traditional and non-standard re/insurance products and markets, including underwriting practices.
  • Strong financial acumen with a foundational understanding of capital management and Solvency.
  • Deep insight into the sales process, customer behavior, and purchasing strategies.

Leadership Skills:

  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on execution and a bias towards closing deals.
  • Ability to think innovatively and adaptively while analyzing data and insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills to drive complex solutions to completion.
  • Strategic and consistent decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven team player with the ability to thrive in a virtual team setting.

Language Skills:

  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with Portuguese as a plus.

Educational Background:

  • Master’s degree in risk management, corporate finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field.

Additional Information:

  • Willingness to travel as required.
