Job OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team as the Head of Legal in Mexico. This role requires a candidate with excellent communication skills, strong project management capabilities, and effective leadership qualities.
Responsibilities- Lead the Legal Team: Provide effective leadership and communication within the legal team, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Manage Legal Projects: Coordinate and manage legal projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to legal standards.
- Negotiate Legal Aspects: Negotiate legal aspects related to products and collaborate with the product team to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with Country Managers and product teams on legal matters, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
- Manage Legal Issues: Manage and prioritize all legal issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing risk.
- Fintech or Technology Background: Ideal candidate will have a background in fintech or technology companies, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
- Strong Communication Skills: Proficient in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Leadership Skills: Strong negotiation and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of Law: In-depth knowledge of intellectual property, fintech, corporate, commercial, and industrial property law, as well as familiarity with litigation processes.
- Residence in Mexico City: Residence in Mexico City (CDMX) or nearby is preferred, with a strong understanding of the local market and regulations.
