Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee post-trade support activities, including collateral transaction processing, monitoring, and aiding collateral settlement, account reconciliation, investigation, and remediation of position/cash imbalances, as well as fails management and settlement escalations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing collateral and settlement operations for US businesses
  • Handling and supporting investigation and resolution of failing transactions for US businesses
  • Processing Mark to Markets and exposure monitoring
  • Vetting of wire payments
  • Acting as an escalation contact and resolving settlement issues and collateral disputes for the business
  • Timely and proper escalation to management or trading desk to protect the firm against risk exposure
  • Ensuring that risk & control framework and escalation procedures are adhered to
  • Creating process efficiencies to improve service quality
  • Engaging and building strong Business and Operations Management relationships
  • Working in collaboration with the team to resolve issues
  • Continuous increase of process knowledge through cross-training
  • Engaging with onshore business partners in communicating issues and/or escalations
  • Liaising with external clients in order to resolve issues and/or answer queries
  • Ensuring adequate support for effective management of KRIs, to minimize risk e.g. Nostro/Stock/inter-system breaks

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of US Market for Settlements and Collateral, Stock Borrowing and Lending Operations
  • Must possess familiarity and knowledge of Tri-Party and Bi-Lateral Processes
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment with ability to support multiple functions and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and a hands-on approach to identify opportunities of process improvement
  • Strong awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management
  • A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred
  • 3-5 years of investment banking experience would be recommended
  • Proven track record in people management and running global teams. Experience of 3 - 5 years is required
  • Understanding of Asian & European Markets for Settlements Operations
  • A firm understanding, supported by accreditation of LEAN and 6 Sigma methodologies
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Equity products is preferred
