We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Solaz a Luxury Collection Resort Los Cabos. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food in our kitchen, ensuring that all dishes meet Marriott International's high standards of quality and presentation.
About This Role
This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in culinary arts, with at least 1 year of experience in a similar role. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for leading a team of cooks and preparing meals according to recipes and quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, as well as adhering to food safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
- Monitor food quality while preparing food.
- Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
- Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety guidelines.
- Ability to lead a team of cooks.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
