The Assistant Controller plays a critical role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Office. This position is responsible for financial analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit and control, asset and liability reconciliation, and working capital and cash control.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the management of the Accounting Team, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.
- Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Ensure regular communication with employees to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.
- Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees to foster a positive work environment.
- Provide excellent leadership, including differentiating top performers, fostering teamwork, and encouraging work-life balance.
- Participate in the employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.
- Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
- Manage projects and policies, generating accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
- Reconcile balance sheets and ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures.
- Demonstrate and apply accounting knowledge, staying up-to-date on job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
- Provide financial information and guidance to others, communicating financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner.
- Maintain finance and accounting goals, submitting reports in a timely manner and ensuring profits and losses are documented accurately.
