Position Summary

The Manager of Interline Revenue Operations will spearhead the ISS and Intramexico team, focusing on enhancing operational processes within the department. This role is crucial for overseeing the reconciliation of interline transactions for traffic originating in Mexico, ensuring accuracy in revenue recognition and collections with Canadian, U.S., and Mexican railroads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies aimed at optimizing reconciliation processes with Mexican railroads to enhance cash flow and application.
  • Establish and oversee departmental goals for payment collection and reconciliation.
  • Manage accounts related to ISS and Intramexico, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation.
  • Supervise the dispute resolution process for freight and accessorial payments.
  • Analyze reports to identify trends, recommend strategies, and set performance metrics for the team.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering professional development.
  • Maintain expertise in all relevant business processes and streams.
  • Guide the team on prioritization and workload management.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with other railroads and internal stakeholders, including Operations, Marketing & Sales, Finance, and Legal teams.
  • Support month-end accounting activities, including the preparation of performance metric reports.
  • Investigate complex issues to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Lead and engage in system implementations, including design and testing phases.
  • Develop business cases to support settlement processes.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues to drive process improvements.
  • Provide expertise to other departments or projects as necessary.
  • Make informed business decisions to safeguard KCS's financial interests.
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Accounting and Finance, including management roles.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP (ECC/S4) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Preferred

  • Experience in the railroad or transportation industry is preferred.
  • Background in accounting or CPA certification is advantageous.
