Job Summary

Array Marketing is seeking a highly skilled Packaging Solutions Engineer to join our team. As a Packaging Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, developing, testing, and optimizing packaging solutions that meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with cross-functional teams to establish and evaluate packaging requirements and deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and acknowledgment of project status, risks, actions, and outcomes.
  • Work with the project team to establish innovative packaging solutions that consider design for sustainability, value, manufacturing, and retail principles.
  • Establish good working partnerships with packaging material suppliers to ensure timely and effective responses.
  • Pursue packaging sustainability initiatives to reduce, reuse, and go green.
  • Develop specifications for custom packaging requests that meet commercial and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop packaging solutions using CAD software and create technical drawings and instructions for package production.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are met and materials are evaluated for compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Evaluate new package concepts and technologies.
  • Generate packaging-related documentation and perform root cause analysis for design, material, or process failures.
  • Document and report packaging tests and results.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and advances in the packaging industry.
  • Ensure all safety regulations are met and follow company quality system policies and procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and report any health and safety issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform daily routine housekeeping of the work area and conduct all work duties in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline with at least 2-3 years of previous experience in packaging engineering or related experience and/or training.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of CAD software, SolidWorks, Internet software, Word processing software, spreadsheet software, and database software.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging manufacture methods, packaging materials, and machine interface.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and discipline to procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
  • Quality-driven with a great work ethic, highly motivated, tenacious, and meticulous in execution.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as design briefs, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects and timelines effectively.
  • Good planning, multi-tasking, and project management skills.
