About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer to join our team at Koombea Inc. in a remote, full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP 7.0+ and experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), coding standards, error handling, and migrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate user-facing and server-side components using PHP and relevant frameworks.
  • Design and implement data storage solutions, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Review, refactor, and maintain codebases to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Deploy web applications in established environments, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in PHP development, with a strong focus on PHP 7.0+.
  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, including classes, inheritance, and method overloading.
  • Experience with coding standards, such as PSR12.
  • Strong understanding of error handling and logging mechanisms.
  • Experience with migrations and database management.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with CodeIgniter and other MVC frameworks (Laravel, Symphony, Zend).
  • Proficiency in SQL databases and HTTP protocol.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and SCSS.
  • Experience with JavaScript and front-end frameworks (jQuery, Angular, React).
  • Shell scripting skills (sh, bash, etc.).
Tools and Technologies
  • Experience with Git, including branches, commits, pull, push, merge, conflicts, and rebase.
  • Proficiency in IDEs (VS Code, PHPStorm, Eclipse, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud-based applications and deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of security methods, including authentication, session management, and encryption/decryption.
