About the Role
  • We are seeking a proactive, solution-oriented Claims Handler for our Mexico office, on Direct business (Seguro Directo). The ideal candidate will have considerable Property, Energy & Casualty claims handling experience and expertise, to manage a diverse Mexican portfolio.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to effectively share technical knowledge, manage expectations, and openly communicate with internal and external clients.
  • Liaise with internal and external service providers and Specialists.
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholders and customer relationships with an emphasis on key clients.
  • Collaborate with the Claims Operations Team to ensure proper claims administration and data quality throughout portfolios.
  • Demonstrate Swiss Re claim's expertise and service excellence at industry and market events.
  • Review and support development of wordings, and tailored solutions for clients in cooperation with contract services.
  • Plan and attend claims audits.
  • Ensure compliance with claims guidelines, controls and reporting, including adherence to Swiss Re Group guidelines and Mexican regulation.
  • Contribute to claims team in the region and global.
  • Claims reporting and represent SR against local authority.
About You
  • 5 years + experience, in the Mexican market claims environment.
  • Knowledge of the Mexican Insurance Market.
  • Responsible for negotiating claims.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Analytical, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under time pressure with multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in IT (MS Office) and Operational areas.
  • Ability to identify and address potential conflict situations / scenarios.
  • Flexibility to travel up as necessary to manage claims in responsibility within the region and develop broker/client relationships as appropriate.
  • Technical capabilities including an understanding of the financial impact of claims decisions (e.g. on reserves and cash flow).
  • Provide actionable Claims' insights to internal stakeholders, including studies, reviews and analysis relating to claims, emerging risks, legal, regulatory and societal developments and other industry topics.
  • Customer-centric mindset to provide a superior claims experience.
  • Deliver the highest quality claim handling and customer service consistent with the Corporate Solutions Claim Commitment and Claim Handling Expectations.
  • Handle claims with high severity/complexity and/or Company reputational risk potential.
  • Advising customers on loss prevention and resolution.
  • Proactive claim investigation, coverage and damage/loss evaluation.
  • Develop and implement appropriate strategy for fair claim resolution, to include settlement negotiation, where needed.
  • Work closely with insureds, claimants and brokers.
  • Maintains a dairy system to monitor activity on reported claims and takes appropriate follow-up measures.
