About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Strategic Investment Leader to join our team at Geneve Int, driving business development efforts in the Manufacturing sector across Latin America.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Execute Business Strategy: Establish and lead the business development strategy for the Manufacturing sector in LAC, focusing on decarbonization, circularity, productivity, and sustainable value chains.
  2. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the MAS LAC and LAC teams to determine target clients, define business development priorities, and foster strategic relationships.
  3. Hub Leadership: Serve as the Hub Lead for Mexico, driving business growth and development in the region.
  4. Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain high-quality relationships with clients, fostering repeat business and access to new opportunities.
  5. Investment Analysis and Due Diligence: Analyze operational and financial performance of potential client companies, review investment proposals, and evaluate benefits and risks.
  6. Trend Identification and Communication: Identify, communicate, and act on trends and developments affecting clients, companies, and industries.
  7. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and support the Manufacturing LAC team in developing high-quality investments, and contribute to the identification and selection of upstream opportunities.
  8. Corporate Activities: Participate in corporate activities, such as recruitment, representation, conference participation, and seminars.
  9. Portfolio Management: Assess the attractiveness of investment opportunities, focusing on credit quality and development impact, and make recommendations to management.
  10. Partnership Development: Identify potential investment partners and opportunities, based on industry experience, reputation, market potential, financial capability, and strategic fit.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: MBA in Finance or equivalent degree, with a minimum of 12 to 15 years of relevant professional experience in finance, including a proven track-record of sourcing, structuring, and closing investments.
  2. Industry Knowledge and Relationships: Existing relationships and credibility across a broad range of manufacturing, agribusiness, and services industry sectors, with knowledge of manufacturing sectors preferred.
  3. Emerging Markets Expertise: Deep understanding of the challenges of investing in emerging markets.
  4. Development Impact and IFC's Mission: Understanding of, and interest in, development impact and IFC's mission.
  5. Business Development and Portfolio Management: Proven track-record in business development and portfolio management, including developing and maintaining strategic client relationships.
  6. Financial and Credit Skills: Excellent financial and credit skills, with the ability to structure complex financial instruments.
  7. Multilateral Agency Experience: Experience working with multilateral agencies.
  8. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Robust analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and present creative solutions.
  9. Business Judgment and Integrity: Sound business judgment and highest standards of transparency and integrity.
  10. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact directly with senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
  11. Language Skills: Fluency in English, with fluency in either Spanish or Portuguese preferred.
  12. Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively.
