Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Wood Applications Interior Designer to join our team at Steelcase. As a key member of our design team, you will play a critical role in helping our sales teams and dealers create innovative and effective design solutions using our Wood products.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of our Wood products, including Elective Elements, Mackinac, Currency, Verlay, Convene, Bassline, and more.
  • Assimilate project information and apply your expertise to create tailored product application solutions.
  • Design and specify Wood product designs, providing final specification documents to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with field sales and dealers to schedule scoping calls, determine deliverables, and provide project updates.
  • Communicate with internal teams regarding special requirements and support product marketing and showroom teams with design expertise.
  • Populate completed projects on our shared Wood Design Studio Applications Library.
  • Participate in weekly team calls and share learnings, tips, and challenges.
  • Develop and curate team resources, keeping the Wood Applications Library up to date.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or industrial design.
  • Advanced English language proficiency.
  • 1+ years' experience in executing design proposals and concepts.
  • Experience and advanced knowledge of construction, building systems, codes, architectural detail, furnishings, acoustics, lighting, and other disciplines.
  • Proficient in architectural/technical drawing and rendering software.
  • Understanding of architectural and construction drawings and ability to apply them when space planning.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Sketchup.
  • Knowledge of CET/Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
