About the Role
The Global Customer Account Manager I is responsible for managing AIT's relationships with key clients and developing strategic partnerships to drive business growth. This role requires a strong understanding of the logistics industry, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and manage key accounts to ensure strategic positioning and engagement with new clients
- Manage the outcome of assigned projects, including KPI reporting, customer service, routing, problem resolution, and vendor compliance
- Develop solutions that address customer needs, coordinate with other departments and employees as needed, and work closely with clients to ensure their needs are met
- Analyze account data and provide predictions to management, including assistance with the creation of MBR and QBR data to meet or exceed global sales and client expectations
- Review account budgets, pricing, quoting, and improve cost effectiveness
- Assist global sales staff and offices with customer relations, resolution of issues, and assist with client solutions that drive additional business from assigned clients
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
- 7+ years of relevant experience in freight forwarding operations, account management, or sales experience in the supply chain industry preferred
- 2-3 years of direct customer-facing experience in sales or account management preferred
- 5+ years of experience with CargoWise, AS400, dangerous goods, and ITAR preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Working understanding of air and ocean, imports and exports required
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office software
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work within a virtual team across multiple time zones and global geographies
- Able to facilitate global conference calls to include customer or operations teams across the globe
- Ability to problem solve and be solution-oriented in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
- Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational, and planning skills
- Strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to think strategically and analytically about business and product challenges
