PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Distribution Management:

  • Oversee the execution and continuous enhancement of distribution center operations to meet targets in Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Productivity, and Inventory Management.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations to minimize company risk.
  • Manage transportation operations from shipping locations to fulfill customer service expectations while enhancing productivity.
  • Collaborate with key carriers and suppliers to implement daily operational tasks aligned with the Enterprise Transportation strategy.
  • Work closely with Enterprise Logistics to establish and execute standardized distribution processes, policies, systems, and talent management.
  • Implement advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) in accordance with the technology roadmap.
  • Contribute to the development of the NAM distribution network strategy, including the design and quantity of shared distribution centers.
  • Deploy Lean methodologies throughout the Integrated Supply Chain processes, focusing on transportation and distribution.
  • Strive for operational excellence by driving best practices across the network, aiming for a 5% annual productivity increase.
  • Formulate and implement quality improvement initiatives for logistics operations.
  • Establish quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards, leading ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 initiatives.
  • Analyze and resolve defect trends by collaborating with relevant managers to develop improvement strategies.

Compliance Management:

  • Ensure accurate filing of Customs documentation to comply with applicable tariff and non-tariff regulations.
  • Monitor compliance for temporary imports of machinery and equipment, ensuring legal adherence.
  • Verify the correct incoterm rule is declared on customs documents to avoid valuation issues.
  • Maintain strict oversight of the duration of temporary imports and track documentation for raw materials and equipment.
  • Supervise the timely filing of Customs documents for transfers of temporarily imported goods by Customs Brokers.
  • Ensure adherence to security protocols in the supply chain under C-TPAT standards.
  • Confirm that tariff classification numbers on certificates of origin match those on customs entry documents.
  • Plan and manage departmental budgets, staffing, training needs, and distribution projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Transportation, Warehousing, and Import/Export Compliance Management.
  • Extensive experience in leading transportation operations and optimizing logistics practices.
  • Training in Lean enterprise principles and methodologies.
  • Proficient in Lean processes including Value Stream Mapping, Material Management Framework, and Strategy Deployment.
  • Strong understanding of Transportation and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Experience collaborating with logistics service providers for daily operations.
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools.
  • Skills in process management, planning, and change management.
  • Ability to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in implementing quality system documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to foster a shared purpose and vision among team members.
  • Negotiation skills to reach conclusions through collaboration and compromise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with all organizational levels.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing business environments.
