Position Overview:

The Senior Analyst in Application Support is a highly skilled professional role that leverages extensive knowledge to enhance operational techniques and refine processes within the organization. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of how various areas interconnect within the sub-function, as well as the ability to align with the overall objectives of the business. The analyst evaluates complex issues that may have significant implications, necessitating a careful assessment of various alternatives and balancing conflicting situations using diverse information sources. Strong analytical capabilities are essential to filter, prioritize, and validate intricate material from multiple origins. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide both technical and business support for users of applications, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and driving improvements in stability and efficiency.
  • Maintain application systems that are operational, ensuring they function effectively within the daily operations of the firm.
  • Oversee and support applications and their environments, focusing on stability, quality, and adherence to service level expectations.
  • Conduct start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and facilitate regional handovers.
  • Execute same-day risk reconciliations and develop comprehensive technical support documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize application usage and assess risks associated with production issues, escalating them to management as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with storage and archiving procedures, formulating and defining objectives for complex application enhancements.
  • Collaborate with development and production support teams to prioritize bug fixes and tooling requirements.
  • Participate in application releases, overseeing the transition from development through testing to production.
  • Engage in post-implementation analysis to confirm successful system design and functionality.
  • Identify risks and vulnerabilities related to technology applications, communicating potential impacts effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to essential procedures, helping to establish operating standards and processes.
  • Act as a liaison between users and internal technology groups, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts, providing guidance based on evaluative judgment in complex situations.
  • Contribute to support project initiatives focused on stability, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating the ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in an Application Support capacity.
  • Proficient in installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience with issue tracking and reporting tools.
  • Solid technical skills and the ability to share information effectively with team members.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Languages:

Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of mainframe systems and various development languages is advantageous.
