Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our properties by overseeing maintenance and repair activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
  • Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Identify and locate shut-off valves to prevent accidents and ensure safety.
  • Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies as needed to maintain inventory levels.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, or machines to detect any defects or malfunctions.
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Operate power lifts to move heavy equipment and materials.
  • Complete life safety checklists, including fire-pump run tests and generator run tests, to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems to prevent accidents and ensure safety.
  • Assist in the development of disaster response protocols to ensure business continuity.
  • Respond to and attend to guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries to management and complete safety training and certifications as required.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and anticipate and address guests' service needs.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others to support team goals and objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards and identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others to ensure effective collaboration and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time and move up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
