Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Railway Operations Coordinator to join our team at CPKC. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient management and movement of train and engine crews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Auto Crew Call System Management: Assist in handling all exceptions and ensuring the smooth operation of the Auto Crew Call system to support the transportation plan.
  • Hotel and Transportation Coordination: Help manage hotel and motel reservations for crews and coordinate with taxi companies to transport crews between trains and their lodging facilities.
  • Report Generation: Assist in the creation of daily and monthly reports to track crew movements and performance.
  • Crew Board Management: Monitor and regulate crew boards at each location to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Operational Excellence: Demonstrate a strong understanding of business requirements and apply operational excellence principles to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrate a customer-focused approach and contingency planning to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
  • Business Metrics: Understand relevant business metrics and apply effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness.
  • Accountability: Identify and address any rule, regulation, or policy violations and hold individuals accountable for meeting expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Define and communicate clearly the team's roles and responsibilities, hold people accountable for accomplishing objectives, and develop and retain a strong team of high performers.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years of relevant operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Discipline: Acumen in one or more disciplines of railroad operations.
Working Conditions
  • Shift Work: Shift work is an essential function of this job, and employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
  • On-Call Responsibilities: On-call responsibilities are an essential function of this job, and employees must have the ability and willingness to support operations of critically important systems 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
  • Travel: This position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.
