Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate necessary documentation for efficient and cost-effective execution of air export activities
  • Coordinate cargo pickup and transfer, monitoring status and communicating with export-related authorities and customers
  • Manage and update carrier/vendor rates, obtaining spot rates when necessary
  • Communicate with overseas agents and clients in a timely manner, including pre-alerts, rate requests, and shipment status
  • Track shipments and update customers/agents on status
  • Create and maintain customer files, including customer invoicing and payable approval
  • Audit files to ensure accuracy and completion
  • Interact with coworkers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist other departments/divisions as needed

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of customs laws, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Additional languages and geographical knowledge are a plus

Work Environment

The Air Export Specialist will work in a climate-controlled internal office environment, with occasional travel required to support the position's responsibilities.
