About the Role

Uber Freight is seeking an experienced Freight Operations Specialist to manage transportation functions and provide excellent customer service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage day-to-day aspects of booking, shipping, tracking, and billing on both import and export shipments.
  2. Secure capacity for loads and leverage carrier relationships to influence capacity awards during tight markets.
  3. Determine eligibility for additional non-committed freight to be awarded to internal brokerage services.
  4. Contact carriers to obtain status of load-tendered and continue monitoring the shipment for on-time pick-up, transit, delivery, and empty.
  5. Update load status in the system and notify Shipper and/or Receiver of Load Status and reschedule pick-up/delivery appointments when necessary.
  6. Establish and maintain effective relationships with shippers and receivers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses.
  7. Correspond with customers and carriers regarding detention information and communicate and gain approval for expedite shipments.
  8. Identify patterns with shipper, receiver, and carrier performance and recommend actions for improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 1 to 2 years of logistics experience.
  • Experience in a system related to TMS (tracking or monitoring of shipments).
  • Completed bachelor's degree.
  • Intermediate English - Email and customer service (Sporadic).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in SAP or Oracle.
  • Experience or knowledge of a dashboard system.
