Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Buyer provides strategic support to one of the major spend categories at Symrise. This position is responsible for managing raw materials regionally, ensuring the security of supply and adherence to contracted delivery terms.
Key Responsibilities- Lead by Example: Demonstrate regional and global safety and ethical initiatives, promoting a culture of excellence within the organization.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Manage day-to-day activities within designated supplier relationships for existing suppliers in assigned categories, ensuring service level and quality complaint resolution.
- Process Improvement: Identify, communicate, and support process improvements for materials or services in assigned areas and with key stakeholders as required.
- Sourcing Strategy: Use sourcing strategy processes and tools to effectively manage assigned sub-categories, executing and proposing sourcing strategies and savings projects.
- Contract Management: Own the contract process for assigned category, ensuring contracts within the category are updated, accurate, and uploaded in the required contract system.
- Financial Reporting: Responsible for financial reporting of savings projects and headwinds, managing the tight materials process to ensure security of supply.
- Quality Systems: Support Symrise's quality systems through engagement with suppliers to work toward successful corrective action resolution and continued quality.
- Initiative Leadership: Lead savings projects, sourcing strategy process, or other initiatives that support achieving team goals, working proactively on cost trend defining drivers and following market trends.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant experience.
- Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
After spending 1-2 years in this position, an associate will have gained exposure to the sourcing strategy process, enabled net structural savings, and developed supplier interaction skills to resolve day-to-day issues. They will also have begun to develop negotiation skills and actively influence process and results, analyzing, identifying, and driving savings.
