Job Summary

This role is responsible for setting up and operating automated front-end manufacturing equipment, including GSM, Fuji, Universal, and Wave machines, for Jabil manufactured assemblies and circuit boards. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision to ensure smooth production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment setup, operation, and adjustment
  • Coordinate with team members to set up machines according to established protocols
  • Ensure board loaders and feeders are loaded with the correct parts and prepare for next part runs by loading feeders ahead of schedule
  • Operate and maintain foam fluxer, using a hydrometer to verify specific gravity and resin ratio
  • Add/supply bar solder, flux, and alcohol as required
  • Clean and adjust flux density controller (FDC) and fluxer
  • Monitor boards for soldering defects
  • Check components for proper seating and soldering quality
  • Dross the solder pot to remove impurities and perform daily maintenance tasks
  • Drain flux and clean the machine on a weekly basis
  • Maintain and load solder screen printer; operate LSM machine to check solder paste application on boards; enter data into MES system
  • Maintain an orderly work area by disposing of fallout parts and cleaning area and machines as needed
  • Monitor machine rejects to ensure parts are being sorted and ran daily
  • Ensure processes and equipment remain within acceptable company manufacturing standards
  • Maintain necessary documentation
  • Perform basic program debugging
  • Conduct quality auditing, testing, and basic machine troubleshooting functions
  • May support Machine Support personnel for preventative maintenance on surface mount machines used in manufacturing processes
  • May also be responsible for conducting offline feeder calibration as needed

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, including using a Windows-based operating system and related software
  • Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and read/understand visual aids and instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw/interpret graphs
