Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Coordinator to join our team at Morgan Advanced Materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing overall supply chain operations, maximizing efficiency, reducing risk, and minimizing cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, plan, and execute Requests for Quotations (RFQs) with suppliers, following stakeholders' requests.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, including price, delivery date, and payment terms.
  • Conduct opportunity analysis for low-risk and low-value spend management and scout for better suppliers.
  • Perform and interpret spend analytics to identify the best available market price for ongoing projects.
  • Place orders, generate Purchase Orders (POs) from the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and confirm POs for components, packaging, raw materials, and equipment.
  • Post inventory adjustments, review lot number issues, and work with accounting to resolve discrepancies in the ERP system.
  • Implement procedures for the department.
  • Receive purchase requisitions through the ERP system, review to ensure items are properly specified, and pertinent information is provided for proper placement of orders.
Environmental, Safety, Risk, and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with the Competitive Tender Process for all buy requests.
  • Maintain supplier ISO performance files and non-conforming materials logs.
  • Maintain files and records, in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Internal Financial Controls (SOX - Sarbanes Oxley / UK Corporate Governance Code), and ISO - International Organization for Standardization regulations.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner, complying with all local, state, and federal Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, and with Morgan EHS Guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, data science, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Purchasing, along with manufacturing operations knowledge.
  • Exhibited exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, displaying strong interpersonal skills.
  • Work efficiently in a team environment and independently as required.
  • Must be bilingual, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in English.
Desired Experience and Background
  • Background in manufacturing facilities, CNC machining preferred.
  • Familiar with the Mexico IMMEX program.
  • Proficient with any major ERP system, Microsoft D365 preferred.
  • Knowledge of negotiation tactics and sourcing specific machinery, tools, and materials.
  • Previous experience working with a team, either as a direct supervisor or influencer.
  • Previous experience building supply chain and procurement systems and procedures.
